Villa M is the perfect beach house.

The location of this beach house is perfect! You have everything you need within walking distance. And if you ever want to venture further out, you can easily book a car to take you (arranged by the staff). The home is so relaxing that you may never want to leave. But you should because there are some great restaurants and stores nearby. The staff are very friendly and more than willing to accommodate your requests. Khun Chee gave some very good recommendations for shopping and restaurants. I was craving specific food and Khun Chee was happy to find it and buy it for me. Really great service! We celebrated by son's 5th birthday and the staff did a great job preparing the food, ordering the cake and balloons. We really enjoyed the Friday street market. The street directly behind the home is closed off and is filled with vendors of street food and local handicrafts. It was great fun! We also enjoyed the fire dance on the beach! Don't miss that!

We didn't want to leave and now dreaming of another visit...

We will be dreaming about our holiday at Villa M (Villa Macpherson) for a long time. As our holiday drew to a close we kept saying that we didn't want to leave as it is certainly one of those special places where you would extend your stay there if you could. We have been fortunate to stay in many resorts and villas due to work and without a doubt Villa M is first class without being ostentatious. We felt right at home and certainly made the most of relaxing in this gorgeous elegant home. Firstly thank you to Villa M's director Leslie for being so welcoming and providing such wonderful information which was incredibly helpful not only for our stay at Villa M but also exploring Koh Samui. This really assisted us to make the most of our time because it meant we didn't waste time with having to ask to many questions once there. Thank you also to Villa M's management team on the ground at Koh Samui. You made it easy for us from the moment we met up with our transfer to Villa M and then to receive such a beautiful greeting from Khun Som, Khun Chee and Khun Chon. Walking through the big timber gates into the stunning entrance area with views across the pool to the beach signalled the start of a truly memorable holiday. Our room was on the top floor with the private rooftop jacuzzi and two balconies. What a special place and definitely a room with a view looking across the palm trees onto the sandy beach then across the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Siam. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the jacuzzi. We also loved Villa M's gorgeous pool and discovered that it was very private, sheltered and protected from wind (not that there was much of that!). My husband said that he's never spent as much time in a pool as we did at Villa M. Villa M's is so beautifully designed and the layout is perfect for a few couples or family units to stay together. There are enough cosy areas for everyone to have their own privacy and then all come together in the downstairs living room with open plan kitchen and dining room. The second floor has three beautiful bedrooms with another comfy lounge area and gorgeous balcony overlooking the Bay of Siam. Our beds were so comfortable and it's so lovely to sleep in beautiful crisp white linen. The furnishings were gorgeous and the lounges really comfortable. Villa M is so tastefully appointed with some really unique pieces and so much attention to detail, throughout our stay I'm kept discovering little gems including gorgeous wall hangings, local pieces and art. Concierge Khun Chee and housemaid Khun Chon were so attentive to us. They were also very discrete giving us privacy whilst being nearby whenever we needed their assistance. Some highlights for us including private massage and facials downstairs overlooking the pool. Another was in-house dining with a meal prepared by a 5-star chef. It was fabulous and we really enjoyed being able to have a drink and observe the chef pull some wonderful dishes. We even managed to get some cooking tips and will definitely be trying them out now we are back home. We will have to come back to Villa M because there is still a list of local restaurants and places to visit. However we certainly managed to tick off quite a few from the list. If you visit we highly recommend you high a private long-tail excursion to explore some of the islands including Koh Tan. We snorkelled in magical turquoise waters over beautiful coral reefs, swam in bays off tiny islands, chilled out with a cocktail on sandy beached and dined in a tiny island restaurant. Take us back there! We only had to step out our door to have a wonderful choice of restaurants and bars. The food and service was just wonderful. We also arranged a few short trips to other wonderful places including the wonderful Jungle Club. All our friends are envious after seeing our holiday posts. We are recharged and refreshed and dreaming of another magical stay at Villa M. Clearly highly recommended.

Paradise and perfection at Villa M

Five star from start to finish - actually I don’t think 5 stars does it justice!!! Nestled at the end of the quiet, sandy beach is the exquisite, very private Villa M. Furnished with immaculate taste, spotless standards and high end furnishings it has a sense of tranquility about it which is captured in all the bedrooms, seating areas and balconies. High standards throughout from the amenities, to pillows, to crockery and of course the wonderful Khun Chee and Khun Chong. Greeted with a warm smile, kind word and exceptional care, especially to our children, these ladies make the stay a real home from home experience, truly special and their breakfasts are delicious!! With two families in the villa together the spacious environment meant everyone had their own personal space, it worked perfectly. The pool area, jacuzzi and beach offer different occasions for relaxing and being at the end of the beach means minimal intrusion from passers by but a fabulous spot to watch the local fisherman. It’s also wonderful to pop next door to the quaint boutique hotel to grab a cocktail or two! The restaurants and bars are fabulous, not a bad meal eaten in a fortnight. The walking market is a must! Everything the village has to offer is on your doorstep, it’s brilliant but behind the closed doors, facing the beach it’s just so peaceful! Fisherman’s Village is such a family, friendly place that made us feel comfortable at all times, oh and the massages are excellent and so reasonable everyone enjoyed them. Our 11 to 15 year olds enjoyed the independence of walking in the village, everyone was so lovely to them and we knew they were very safe. A highlight was the in Villa dining experience to celebrate our 22nd anniversary ( we met in Ko Samui 22 years ago and the 7 Eleven was still there in Chaweng where we met!) - anyway the food was beyond amazing and with champagne and lanterns surprise took my breath away - such kindness - thank you so much for making it perfect. Villa M was just perfection and we had to pinch ourselves from time to time because sometimes I just felt like I was dreaming. With Villa M, snorkelling boat trips, temple exploration, paradise beaches and some of the best Thai food ever it was a holiday that made memories that will last a lifetime. Also a huge thank you to Leslie, your warm, timely, informative communication gave us confidence in Villa Ms services and standards from our initial enquiry through to now - truly exceptional care, thank you Leslie so much. We never wanted to leave xxxx

Simply perfect

Our trip to Villa M was perfect from the first email contact to the genuine heartfelt goodbyes from the staff after our 8 night stay. Located on a prime beach front spot surrounded by fabulous restaurants and the beautiful local people. One can not fault the property or its staff. Villa M is packed full of happiness, the owner has thought of everything and it will undoubtably be our first choice again when holidaying in Koh Samui.

Just Perfect

I would like to confirm all of what my friend said in the last review. Our group of 5 school friends will be reminiscing for years to come, having made amazing memories. Villa M is in the best location, with the best staff. The accommodation was outstanding, clean, spacious, dateless decor with private beach on our back doorstep felt like being in paradise. We are already talking about our return holiday to Villa M.

Location

The location of Villa M is spectacular. Absolute beach front on the north coast, in the quieter side of Fisherman's Village, Bophut. Only 15 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes from the night life and shopping in Chaweng, with boats direct from the village pier to the surrounding islands and the enchanting Angthong Marine National Park. Koh Phangan can be seen from the villa. Enjoy one of the many luxury spas, a diving trip, a day elephant trekking through the rainforest or play the 18 hole PGA standard golf course, with stunning sea views. The choice is yours.

Fisherman's Village itself exudes a bohemian feeling with a variety of restaurants offering Thai and international cuisine. Most provide picturesque beachfront dining on their balconies and dining on the sand.

Shopping is easy. Browse stalls along the main street selling local artifacts or spend time in the charming boutiques. Massage places are on the main strip and the beach. Friday evenings the village is a walking street/car free.

Cancellation Policy

A reservation may be cancelled at any time by notifying Villa M in writing or by email. The cancellation will take effect from the date the written confirmation is received by Villa M.

The Following Cancellation Terms Apply:
* 60 days or more of arrival date: 20% of the total rental amount will be forfeited.
* 30 and 60 days before the arrival date: 50% of the total rental amount will be forfeited. A full or partial refund is solely applicable shall Villa M secure a reservation covering partially or fully the initial cancelled reservation.
* 30 days or less before the arrival date.100% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made 30 days or less before the arrival date.
* A full or partial refund is subject to the discretion of Villa M and solely applicable in the event that Villa M secures another reservation covering partially or fully the initial cancelled reservation.

Christmas and New Year Periods:(Peak 15th Dec. to 10th Jan.)
* For any cancellation after the deposit and/or balance payment, all payments are forfeited and a full or partial refund is solely applicable in the event that Villa M secures another reservation covering partially or fully the initial and cancelled reservation.
* Deposit is non-refundable for late cancellation and early check-out.

Amendments:
* An administration fee of USD 50 will apply in the event of refund and amendment to the reservation. The above cancellation charges also apply if Villa M cancels the booking due to non-payment of the balance. If the dates of the booking require to be changed or amended, this may be treated as a cancellation of the original booking. Cancellation charges may apply, subject to the approval of Villa M.
* An early departure penalty will be subject to negotiation with Villa M.

Alteration or Cancellation by Villa M:
* In the unlikely event that Villa M has to make any changes to confirmed bookings, we will advise guests the earliest possible date. If a property is damaged or rendered unusable, or if for any reason beyond our control or due to unexpected circumstances Villa M reserves the right to cancel the reservation. However, Villa M will endeavor to locate an alternative property for the required period.
* If this is not possible, or you do not wish to be transferred, we will cancel the booking and refund you in full.

Payment Terms

Special Offers:
* Early Bird (Low/Shoulder): 15% off for bookings made more than 120 days prior to arrival.
* Early Bird (High): 10% off for bookings made more than 120 days prior to arrival.
* Early Bird (Peak): 5% off for bookings made more than 150 days prior to arrival.
* Last Minute: 20% off for bookings made less than 30 days prior to check-in.
* Long Stay: 15% off for stays of 10 nights or more.

Initial Deposit:
* An initial deposit of 50% of the villa rental, to also include the 10% service charge and 7% tax, is required to confirm any booking.
* For bookings made within 60 days of arrival, full payment is required at the time of reservation.
* On notification of a booking, Villa M Reservations will block the calendar accordingly for 5 working days pending receipt of deposit funds.
* No Agreement will be accepted by Villa M before the receipt of funds.
* If the booking is cancelled after confirmation and has been processed, cancellation charges will become payable in accordance with the cancellation policy.

Balance Payment:
* The outstanding balance must be paid at least sixty (60) days before the date of arrival, unless otherwise specified in the booking confirmation. Should Villa M not receive the balance by the due date, Villa M reserves the right to cancel the booking, and cancellation charges will apply.

Security Deposit:
* A security deposit is payable to Villa M on arrival in the villa. This is to cover the cost of any damage or breakages during the rental period of the villa, its contents, or the cost of other services. This amount will be returned to the guest at the time of departure, less any such costs.

Beachfront Paradise

Villa M is set on a quiet beach within walking distance to Fisherman's Village, Bophut, and is for travelers who seek to enjoy more than a touch of the fabled East.

It is difficult for words on a website to convey just how special Villa M is for it represents a unique Samui experience. The villa is a stand out on this island paradise for a number of reasons. Although quiet and secluded, it is the only residential villa that is as close to the boutique resorts, chic shops and sophisticated restaurants of picturesque Fisherman's Village. It is a three-storey absolute beachfront home which is rare on Samui and the colonial inspired design, furnishings, impressive art collection in this relaxing home all work together to create, simply, an amazing property.

The exterior with its white facade contrasted by the antique Shanxi wooden doorway is eye catching. This opens into an inner courtyard of tropical plants and then through into the villa itself.

Once in the hallway the interior is a tasteful extension of the exterior with white walls, plantation shutters and the rich texture of reclaimed teak floors. Each room in the home is comfortable and contemporary, but with an intimate Indochine feel with furniture from Burma, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and, of course, Thailand.

A teak wood floating staircase linking each floor is a focal point, featuring a collection of Samui vintage photos on each level. From the hallway, on the left, there is a concealed laundry area and a private study which offers a quiet place to relax and read novels from the library. There is an interesting collection of old books p hotos and memorabilia.

Back into the hallway, a grand teak mirror faces the staircase and, on the right, the entrance to a Queen en-suite bedroom with bathtub. As with all the rooms it is charmingly decorated and reflects a feeling of yesteryear.

The hallway opens into the main living area, with absolute beach front and the Gulf of Siam in front of you. On the left is a designer kitchen separated from the dining area by a breakfast bar. Silver bar stools complement the glass-topped dining table which is surrounded by bone inlay chairs from Rajasthan.

To the right there are two deep cream sofas, an exotic Anglo Indian coffee table and a personally autographed photo of Yul Brynner. A wall-mounted flat TV, a Gujarat chest and a guest bathroom are additional features in the sitting room.

Outside there is an extensive teak deck, an aqua swimming pool and a lawn which flows onto a private sandy beach fringed by palm trees. Back inside and heading up to the next level, the landing area wraps around the staircase and takes you to a floor to ceiling glass window over looking Fisherman's Village. Next to an elegant mother of pearl doorway is a Queen en-suite bedroom with a large balcony and a village outlook.

In front of the staircase the room opens out into a second sitting room, another wall mounted flat TV, antique chests, leather suitcases, cabinets and side tables. A Queen bedroom with en-suite bathroom, including a large bathtub also extends from the rear of the sitting room.

Across the width of this floor facing the beach is a balcony complete with Burmese plantation chairs from which you can relax and enjoy the sea view and watch the sunset through swaying palms. To the right, folding doors reveal another Queen bedroom enjoying magnificent beach views, separate dressing area and en-suite bathroom.

The final staircase ascends into the third-floor suite. To the right of the staircase is the master King bedroom with access to two large terraces both ideal for sunbathing and out door dining, with either village or beach and water views.

Steps from the front terrace lead to another level which contains the final luxury indulgence, a sunken rooftop Jacuzzi, a large decked entertainment area with a bar, storage rooms and a further bathroom. This is an especially idyllic spot with views over the pool, the garden, the fishing harbor, the beach and across the ocean to Koh Phangan.

The exquisite furniture from India, Oman, China, Thailand, Bali, Vietnam, Laos and Burma and artworks from the owners' private collection compare with no other property on Samui None has been styled or dressed with such flair, taste and eye for detail.
