Pattaya boasts several go kart tracks offering a fun day out for aspiring race drivers and families alike. There are tracks for beginners as well as those for more experienced drivers. Some tracks also offer cart sizes for children and even duo-driving.
Pattaya Kart Speedway was the first and biggest of the kart racing tracks in Thailand. The design includes lakes and some challenging turns. The track also offers different types of karts, all of them serviced and maintained.
The Bhira international Circuit periodically hosts international motor and motorcycle racing. Local races take place at the weekend and the specially designed Go Cart track is smooth and fast. You can chose from 3-4 types of karts with different performances and speeds.
Another track at Mini-Siam is more modest in size, but still makes for some fun racing. In fact, even if you don't like to race, you can enjoy a fun few hours watching people shoot round the track pretending to be Formula One drivers.
The Bira Circuit, located a short distance from Pattaya, is the only internationally certified racetrack in Thailand. Named after the famous Prince Bira, the first and only Thai driver to race in Formula One, the extensive facilities include a full-service karting track, an off-road test track, and a recently renovated and FIA certified 2.41km racetrack.
In addition to staging regular racing events throughout the year, Bira Circuit is also fully equipped to host private functions such as race meetings, driving schools, testing programs and corporate events.
As well as visiting the circuit as a spectator, it's also possible to learn racing skills on courses. TAKI RACING, based at Bira Circuit, offers courses to anyone over 16 years old with the desire to excel in motor sports. The one-day course introduces you to the enjoyment and challenge of motor sports with an opportunity to get cockpit time in real racing cars. If you take the 2-day Professional Drive course, you learn all the skills required to race competently at the entry level in any kind of racing car.
Motorbike racing is also popular at Bira with three-day courses available through companies like Extreme Sports Cafe and Highside Tours. These guarantee plenty of track time and professional tips, helping you make the most of the powerful 750cc race-prepared bikes.
